I'm with Glenn on this one, congress passed a law authorizing bonuses for the people in question... Obama and his wet behind the ears treasury secretarty twisted arms in congress to have the bonus law changed on the stimulus package and then acted surprised when the public was angry and played as though their hands were clean of the matter... The congress passed a law! The president signed the law! How can anyone say I did not know the law... an individual maybe but the people who created the law and the executive that signed it into law? Why does everyone give the Democrats plus 3 Republicans a pass and the president that created a law and affirmed it as law by signing the document?

The bullshit congress acting outraged and passing a tax bill to tax bonuses is just as stupid as Obama acting as though he didn't realize he signed into law a law??? This guy Blumenthal could have caused someone to be murdered with his actions... there were death threats, serious death threats! In my opinion he was nothing more than a distraction of the above facts about the Dems+3 and the president and Glenn was right his job is to enforce the law and that would be insisting the bonuses were paid and not attempting to make law up as you go to cover a political group from the public at the possible cost of citizens he's sworn to protect.

Given that Beck and the rest of the right-wing noise machine have misrepresented the issue of Senator Dodd and the bonus issue anything they say on the matter is is to be taken with a grain of salt.

As for Colbert, he simply shows Beck for the hypocritical idiot he is. Now, why isn't Beck, and you dearie, supporting the sanctity of UAW contracts in the same manner y'all are backing the contracts of the white-collar criminals?
