LOUISVILLE, KY (AP) - A former college student charged with murdering her newborn daughter and concealing the body is scheduled to go on trial.

Jury selection for 20-year-old Kathryn "Katie" McCoy is slated to begin at 1 p.m. Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court.

McCoy, a one-time student and golf team member at Bellarmine University in Louisville, has pleaded not guilty to murder and tampering with physical evidence. She has been free on $50,000 bond since October 2007.

Prosecutors say McCoy hid her pregnancy from family and friends, then gave birth to the baby in her dorm room in October. Prosecutors say she first took the baby to a trash room and left the infant there, but eventually hid the baby in her gym bag.
