Thank you Pres Obama. Since you declared war on Rush, and Rush answered back, the ratings for the King of talk radio have increased
GOP Fights Back Over Criticism of Limbaugh
White House Is Accused Of Cynicism, Hypocrisy
By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer

By one measure, Rush Limbaugh is a clear winner this week: His ratings have nearly doubled since his feud with the White House burst into the media limelight.
But the Obama administration's strategy of trying to elevate the conservative radio commentator to leader of the opposition has prompted a vigorous counterattack, with a key Republican senator saying the move is an "outrage" that "reeks of hypocrisy coming from a president who campaigned against these very cynical political tactics last fall."
That letter from Sen. John Cornyn (Tex.), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and a Washington Post opinion piece by House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), also accusing the White House of cynicism, underscore the GOP's attempt to make President Obama pay a political price for the rhetorical assault on Limbaugh.
Asked at a briefing Wednesday whether it was "hypocritical" for him to go after the talk radio host and criticize cable commentators, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said he would "plead guilty" to being "counterproductive."
Limbaugh said this week that White House officials are "targeting" him because "they need a demon to distract and divert from what their agenda is." He said Obama aides are "going after private citizens" in a manner reminiscent of Richard M. Nixon's "enemies list." He also challenged the president to a debate on his show.
The media have feasted on the story since Limbaugh told a conservative conference Saturday that he wants Obama to fail because he opposes the president's big-government policies. The next day, Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, told CBS that Limbaugh is "the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party."
Limbaugh has a 60 percent favorable rating among Republicans, while 23 percent have a negative view, according to a Gallup poll taken last month. But 63 percent of Democrats view him unfavorably, compared with 6 percent who view him positively. Independents see him negatively by an almost 2 to 1 margin.

About as much as Obama won? Dems are blind to what is happening to the country. The last thing Obama wants to talk about is the effects of his econmic polices

Hey... you say that Rush is winning... I think that is great. If winning means losing all the liberals and independents 2:1 and even losing 1/4th of republicans...I hope he wins all the time.
Like I said... you seem to ignore the data that shows that America is increasingly PLEASED with the direction the country is headed.

I am sure the 600,000 people who lost their jobs under Obama's watch last month are thrilled to death with the change

and this is what MD thinks is obama "winning"
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 35% now say the country is moving in the right direction, up from 30% last week and 28% the week before.
In the latest poll, 58% believe the nation is moving down the wrong track,
thats pathetic. that is a true partisan who is so in love with his party that he thinks 35% positive and 58% negative is a win for his party....

Look at all of Obama's acomplishments so far. The more misery the better for Dems. They can try and push more and more big government programs along with more bog government spending
Good news for America is bad news for Dems

I remember a poster here posted how he was happy over the Dow sinking. He was giddy over the fact many Republicans would suffer

good job obama and emmanuel...
"The people who love him are a very small segment of the public," said Michael Harrison, publisher of Talkers magazine, whose research indicates that Limbaugh's weekly audience has spiked from 14.2 million to about 25 million since the controversy escalated. "
over 10 million new listeners...yeah, real "small" segment of the public

the fact remains...Rasmussen shows a positive trend in people's opinions about the direction of the country. If you look at the blue line on the graph from that RCP page that YOU posted, you will see that the trend on that has been positive ever since the day Obama was elected. Positive trends are good news... People's opinions about the direction of the country are changing and changing for the better. You can't run away from that.

Rush reminds me of the best of the Nazi propaganda machine. A brilliant orator who uses his skills for evil, not good. You listen to his program and are swept back to Germany in 1933. Only they didn't have Viagra back then.

The Democratic National Committee has joined the administration’s campaign against talk-host Rush Limbaugh, proposing to place an anti-Limbaugh billboard message “in Rush Limbaugh's hometown of West Palm Beach, Fla.”

Do you even have a clue what happened in Nazi Germany? The Nazis siezed more and more power for the government. How exactly does advocating lesser government in every aspect of life revitalize Nazi programs?
And more to the point, why are you so concerned about Viagra? Seems to me thats a personal issue for you and we dont need to hear it on the board.

More to the point, why do you think 58% of people thinking Pres. Obama is leading this nation in the wrong direction is somehow a good thing for you and proves that Rush isn't winning?more to the point... the trend of public opinion as to the direction of the nation has been steadily improving throughout the period of time that Rush has been claiming that we are headed in the wrong direction. If one looks at the graph on RealClearPolitics that plots the polling data on that question over time, one can see that it has been steadily IMPROVING since the day that Obama was elected....through all the stuff about Daschle and all the stuff about Geithner.. and the bailouts and the stimulus bill and the earmarks in the budget... it keeps improving. I think you all don't want to come to grips with what that trend line actually means... I think you don't DARE put it in context.

Right, because moving from 62% wrong track to 58% wrong track shows us President Obama is doing such a fabulous job. Especially since the wrong track numbers are in a bell curve right now and have every chance of going back up next week just as easily as move downward. There is no momentum. Give it another month or see a much more significant drop, maybe you can say that. But there is no reason to see this difference as significant in my opinion. We still have nearly 60% of people saying that we are heading in the wrong direction. I'm one of them.
