Wow, look at the difference in reporting from these two sources:

The bottom line is this: Both the Democratic plan and the Republican plan balance the budget. But, with the Democrats' plan, we pay A LOT more in taxes. Whether they want to call it an "increase" or "tax cut expiration," the amount we pay in taxes is going to shoot up drastically in 2010, if this bill makes it through. :(

There is no way that their tax increase plan is going to balance the budget. Not because they are going to slow the economy with it and decrease revenues (that's a given). but if they are going to continue bribing House members with billiions of pork to get their way, then there is no way they can have a balanced budget. Every vote will have people holding out to just get more money.

Yet another reason to join the grassroots drive to get HR-25 (The Fairtax) thru the hoops and on the Presidents desk.
Or, conversely you could lobby your member of Congress to introduce a National Property Tax bill.
Both methods would eliminate the vast bulk of the IRS. The remaining IRS types would be relegated to dealing with state agencies instead of the McUSA family.

The bottom line is this: Both the Democratic plan and the Republican plan balance the budget. But...
But you should probably read the first one again.
It doesn't talk about a dem plan and a repub plan. It talks about a House plan and a Senate plan.
The second article compares the House plan to Bush's plan.
Which is one of the reasons why the articles sound so different.

The House plan is the Democratic plan, and Bush's plan is obviously the Republican plan.

And lets be honest, both plans suck.

How do you know that both the house and senate plans are not dem plans. You merged the content from both articles into an idea that the articles did not express.
