Holy crap why is that black family spending so much money on food???????

For our family of 6 I just spent $115, maybe we'll have take out this weekend and spend another 30 or so, but it won't be close to $350.

Damn, that better be designer pizza.

I live in NC and I still can't figure out how you can spend over 300 dollars on food, we eat organic whole foods and that's just shy of my monthly budget...

I saw this before, it made me look at what I was buying more closely. And made my husband consent to more rice and bean meals :).

Well I was trying to figure out how much we spent when the boys were in their teens and my dad and daughter were here. At least 2 times a month at Sam's/Costco with the tab running around $250 a pop, (of course that would include some non-food items). 3-4 trips to local grocery an average of perhaps $30.

250 X 2= $500 4 X 30=120 X 4= 480 500 + 480=980 divided by 4=$265 per week

Not counting eating out, pretty close to $300.

Now however, we eat pretty much veggies, fruits, whole grains, chicken/fish twice a week. Oatmeal for most breakfasts. I'm sure we're spending considerably less than a quarter of what I did.

I will say though that with teenaged boys, it's not possible to keep food in the house. there were probably 5 really crazy years, where we went through 3 gallons of milk, 4 or even 5 loaves of bread, countless boxes of mac & cheese, most of these not at meals, but 'to get them through'.

I'd say in the long run boys are cheaper than girls, but not in those few years where they go from 4' something to close to 6' and from maybe 95lbs to 150 or so. It'd be cheaper to fatten a calf and at least you could it 'em when you were done. :laugh2:

I like the chick from Egypt, the one wearing the potato on her head, just to the right of the guy wearing the diaper on his. She's hot.

Seriously though, what's with the potato? :coffee:

And, did anyone notice that there's a puppy among the food for the Great Britain family? He must've snuck over from the Korean family!:lame2: joke

My oldest is just shy of 16 and when not in wrestling he eats like a horse. My daughter is 13 and eats probably as much as I do, so that's 4 adult size meals and then my two little boys. I can easily go through 3-4 gallons of milk and 2 loaves of bread, more during the summer when they're home all day eating. Maybe these people are counting school lunches in their total??????

I've NEVER spent 300 a week on food, so this just blows my mind.

I'm looking at what they have on the table. Pizza and McDonald will add up, plus the Coke products instead of off brands. I'm cheap though and look for bargains, hardly any brand loyalty in this house. :laugh2:

what bothers me most is that I bet the German family got paid more to participate in this photo shoot than the Sudanese family did.....
