See, there is where the anti-science crowd has gotten us. They've spent so much effort trying to convince people that science is a form of religion, that something which most definitively IS a meteor is only said to be "believed to be a meteor"

I saw one of these myself one night, Oct 1998. Pretty spectacular I must say!
