Heard a blurb on ABC radio on the way to work today.
It seems that the outcome of the Presidential and Congressional election last night, is affecting some of the baseball contracts currently being negotiated, with the end of the baseball season.
It seems that players are asking that their bonuses, incentives, etc., be paid with checks dated BEFORE Jan 1, 2009. This is because of the realization that the Democrats will likely raise taxes on such high-paid people... and might even make the tax increases retroactive to Jan 1, as a certain other newly-elected Democrat president and Congress did, some sixteen years ago.
Should have been careful what you wished for, fellows.
