wow, I thought the economy was in the shitter..

kind of a gross display of arrogance on the little Marxists part, but what do you expect from someone who thinks so highly of himself..just like Chavez, Castro, Hussein...

Did anyone else feel like those people truly believed they were seeing the messiah? It sure looked like it on their faces.

According to the Chicago Tribune, there were over 80,000 people in the park before the polls even closed. Which requires a lot of security.

5 million here, 10 million there...... what kind of disgusting oppulance will this arrogant nancy boy demand for his inauguration? This clown just wasted 2 years and 750 MILLION DOLLARS promoting change and doing everything the same as everyone before him but spending over 600 MILLION DOLLARS MORE than his old fashioned opponent. He is an insincere, arrogant joke that will be the biggest spending freak of all time.

Oh by the way, those of you that thought we would finally be able to not here about the poor old black people and there poor old past........ it's just starting, it's all we will hear.

We just made history.

And I don't want you to forget how we did it.

You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.

But I want to be very clear about one thing...

All of this happened because of you.

Thank you,

Barack

I find this statement hypocritical at best and pure horse shit in reality. Where were the history loving freaks from the democrats and black America when the Republicans elevated Clarence Thomas to Supreme Court Justice, where were you jerks when President Bush appointed General Collin Powell to Secretary of State and Condoleezza Rice to Secretary of Defense? Where were the historians when Secretary of Defense Rice became Secretary of State Rice. I guess it's only history if it's a Democrat.

McCain supporters are generally too busy working, etc., to attend park rallies. That is the stuff of students and the unemployed.

Not the bullshit fest that cost Chicago at least 2 million dollars and the DNC millions more........ for what? A bunch of imbeciles crying while the President elect continues his campaign garbage by saying nothing once again? Expensive empty suit that needs it's handlers to stuff it with what THEY want to do.

Whole different ball of wax. Mr. P. Rallies are at all different times, go on for a relatively short period, and attendance can be planned. Not so for 80,000 people spontaneously going to the park for the day.

Not from me. I disliked John McCain as much if not more than I was opposed to President Elect Obama's socialism.

If over 100,000 people want to converge on a public park, who is going to stop them? The Chicago police did close the access to the park around 6 or so because it had become overcrowded.
The Grant Park rally comprised the common people of the Chicago area. It was not the stuffed shirts that attend Republican events. If you watched the live web cam of the event, there were people from all points of life. There were black and white, rich and poor, hourly workers and professionals.
They were there because they wanted to be there. No one needed a ticket.

Mayor Daley predicted today that more than a million people would descend on Grant Park for Barack Obama's election night "celebration" -- but that was before the Obama campaign disclosed that only those with tickets would be allowed to attend.

The surprise announcement was made in an e-mail to Obama's Illinois supporters -- people who have made donations, worked in phone banks, traveled to battleground states to campaign for Obama or signed up to receive e-mail updates from the campaign.

HOW TICKETED AND NON-TICKETED EVENTS WILL WORK

Q: I HAVE a ticket. What should I bring and not bring?

A: Print and bring your ticket and a photo ID. You'll be directed where to go at the entrance on Congress.

Obama fans flock to Web for 'sold-out' tickets

With tickets gone for the Election Night rally in Chicago's Grant Park for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama -- the campaign declined to say how quickly they ran out -- anxious supporters turned today to other sources online, where their chances seemed slimmer still.

I wonder how many kegs of beer they had there, to entice all of the kids to show up..

they had to make a big show out of it for HIS SUBJECTS to see how special he is..

Oh Geezzzzz...Steph.:slap:

You WON'T be allowed to bring chairs, coolers, alcohol, strollers or any bag bigger than a woman's purse. No mention was made of cell phones, cameras or handheld camcorders, but they're probably okay if they're small. Children can come without a ticket if they're small enough to carry, said Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communication executive director
