John McCain was pleased to accept the endorsement of former U.S. Ambassador Leonore Annenberg. McCain has also referred to Leonore and Walter Annenberg as "true friends."
Apparently McCain overlooked the fact that Leonore and Walter Annenberg have funded William Ayers to the tune of $50 million.
Hypocrisy much?

Why would McCain disavow an Annenberg endorsement? Considering Walter died in 2002 and Leonore is just a figurehead regarding the Foundation, I don't think it was a huge deal. Surprising to many, a conservative founded, but non-partisan foundation, they really give money freely, based upon the application only. Wouldn't it be cool if Soros did the same?
Only in your mind, Gabby, is this a 'story'.

Watching you people jockey back and forth over these two losers when you could be voting for America is entertaining.

So let's see if i get this straight, Having indirect debateable ties to terrorists is hypocrisy.
having intimate ties and working together to accomplish goals is not a problem.
Only a liberal could possibly think that.

Doesn't matter. McCain approves of someone who donated $50 million to a known terrorist. Therefore, McCain approves of terrorism.
I have run circles around all of you, logic wise.

Hey Gabs, I'm still waiting for proof of my racism. I guess it's a good thing I haven't been holding my breath...
I would think many of those on DP would identify with Rev. Wright. All of you are steeped in racist thoughts.
Show me one post where I have expressed racist sentiments or retract this statement, liar.

Finally! A response! Now perhaps I can muster a return of some of the respect I once held for you.
I certainly hope that the above comment is made with tongue-in-cheek as I think you are intelligent enough to recognize that there are racists of all political persuasions.
As for me, I can assure you that there is not a racist bone in my body. I keep friends of all religions and races.

And let's not forget Rashid Khalidi, who the McCain campaign is attempting to link to Obama. BUt McCain's ties to Khalidi are more substantial and realistic than the fictional ties they are trying to make with Obama.
You see in the 1998, while McCain was chair for the International Republican Institute, the institute made a grant to the Center for Palestine Research and Studies, founded by professor Khalidi to the tune of nearly $500,000.

Yeah, because one non-profit organization giving money to another non-profit organization is exactly that same as attending an Israel/Jew bashing dinner honoring the former mouth piece of Yasser Arafat. Because one non-profit organization giving money to another non-profit organization is exactly that same as being a friend to and frequent dinner companion of a former PLO spokesman.

Please, do provide a link to evidence...objective, independently verifiable evidence, that Khalidi was ever a spokesman for Arafat.

Seriously? You need a link? Okay...
From the L.A. Times article back in April (the one that everyone is griping about):
In the 1970s, when Khalidi taught at a university in Beirut, he often spoke to reporters on behalf of Yasser Arafat's Palestine Liberation Organization. In the early 1990s, he advised the Palestinian delegation during peace negotiations. Khalidi now occupies a prestigious professorship of Arab studies at Columbia. (http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-obamamideast10apr10,0,1780231,full.story)
I will concede that, according to most of what I have read in recent days, his status may have been unofficial.
BTW, do you know how hard it is to find unbiased info on this guy?

Nice try, but even <i><a href=http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1225199601042&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull>The Jerusalem Post</a></i> has quoted PLO sources in calling that assertion bullshit.

Yeah, I saw that, and as I stated, it appears as though his status as a spokesman may have been unofficial, perhaps given to him by certain members of the press back in the '70s and '80s. Wiki has a pretty honest assesment of his relationship with the PLO. There is also an interesting interview (transcript) on PBS from an appearance he made on News Hour back in 1997. In that interview, he is mildly critical of Arafat.

To paraphrase the recent campaign ad:
Both the leading Presidential candidates encountered communists and terrorists in their formative years.
Only one of them fought back.
