The Warren court not liberal enough. LOL
This shitbag liberal with a full Dem Congress is going to have unlimited power to rewrite the Constitution as he sees fit. His comments in this interview show that he has no understanding of even the basic principles of the Constitution.

So it wasn't a slip of the tongue with Joe the Plumber.
It goes to his core beliefs and what he will do to make things "fair"
I am not surprised this is turning up, the liberal media won't question the Chosen One about the tape - and the libs here are avoiding this thread

Here's an article describing the radio interview, for those of us who can't get YouTube at work.
The scariest statement Obama makes, at least in the article, is:
"It [the Supreme Court] didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it has been interpreted" - Barack Obama, 2001
The statement is true, of course.
What gets me, is that Obama was saying it like it was a bad thing.
One of the Supreme Court's principal jobs, perhaps their most important, is to make sure Congress doesn't pass laws that violate the basic framework of the Constitution. But here, Obama is saying flatly that he wants them to renounce that very task, and rule contrary to the document that caused our country to become the freest, most prosperous on earth.
I've always been pretty sure that liberals were basically socialists. But it's startling to hear such clear, explicit proof, admitted by the liberal himself.
Usually they bend over backwards to hide their agenda, knowing that the American people want no part of it. The only way the liberals can get votes, is to pretend they DON'T want this type of socialism... or at best, to not mention it and pray the subject never comes up. Only by fooling the American people, and lying about their real objectives in government, can they hope to gain power.
Obama isn't just a socialist. He's a STUPID socialist, not much different from a bank robber who blabs on a local radio or TV station that he's going to knock over Thrift Savings and Loan when they open next week.
The only question is, are the "cops" listening? Will the American people "arrest" this guy while they still have a choice?

Obama, in 2001 Interview, Lamented Failure of Civil Rights Movement to Redistribute Wealth
In a radio interview in 2001, Barack Obama said the civil rights movement failed when it became so dependent on the Supreme Court that it never got around to working toward redistributing income.

Monday, October 27, 2008
A 7-year-old radio interview in which Barack Obama discussed the failure of the Supreme Court to rule on redistributing wealth in its Civil Rights rulings has given fresh ammunition to critics who say the Democratic presidential candidate has a socialist agenda.
The interview -- conducted by Chicago Public Radio in 2001, while Obama was an Illinois state senator and a law professor at the University of Chicago -- delves into whether the civil rights movement should have gone further than it did, so that when "dispossessed peoples" appealed to the high court on the right to sit at the lunch counter, they should have also appealed for the right to have someone else pay for the meal.
In the interview, Obama said the civil rights movement was victorious in some regards, but failed to create a "redistributive change" in its appeals to the Supreme Court, led at the time by Chief Justice Earl Warren. He suggested that such change should occur at the state legislature level, since the courts did not interpret the U.S. Constitution to permit such change.
"The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of basic issues of political and economic justice in this society, and to that extent as radical as people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical," Obama said in the interview, a recording of which surfaced on the Internet over the weekend.
"It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it has been interpreted.
"And the Warren court interpreted it generally in the same way -- that the Constitution is a document of negative liberties, says what the states can't do to you, says what the federal government can't do to you, but it doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf, and that hasn't shifted.
"And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that," Obama said.
The 7-year-old interview evokes recent questioning by Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher, the Ohio man who asked Obama about his proposal to raise taxes on people making more than $250,000. Obama told Wurzelbacher he wants to hike taxes on the wealthy so that the government can spread the wealth.
Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said Monday the comments on the tape have "nothing to do with Obama's economic plan or his plan to give the middle class a tax cut."
"Here are the facts. In the interview, Obama went into extensive detail to explain why the courts should not get into that business of 'redistributing' wealth. Obama's point -- and what he called a tragedy -- was that legal victories in the civil rights led too many people to rely on the courts to change society for the better. That view is shared by conservative judges and legal scholars across the country," Burton said..
"As Obama has said before and written about, he believes that change comes from the bottom up -- not from the corridors of Washington. ... And so Obama's point was simply that if we want to improve economic conditions for people in this country, we should do so by bringing people together at the community level and getting everyone involved in our democratic process," Burton continued.
National Review reporter Byron York, a FOX News contributor, said the U.S. government already has a progressive tax system that gives money earned by one group to another group, but it's a matter of degree. He added that Obama's outlook on that system hasn't changed.
"It seems clear from listening to this that the Obama of 2001 and probably the Obama of today feels that the government doesn't do that enough, and I think that's probably the big point in this tape," York said.
"You've got to take him at his word," York added. "It seems to me that the tape shows that this is simply a goal he has had for a long time."

Saw this on the FOX website earlier. Very telling about the messiah. He needs to be kept out of office at all costs and everybody needs to pull together on this. With McCain you get bad. With the messiah you get far worse

What do you think Obama said.
Obama said the courts won't protect redistribution based on the Constitution. What's your problem with that?

My problem with that, is that Obama has a problem with that.
As I said, Obama pointed out the Court's failure to redistribute wealth, as though it were a BAD thing.
That's the scariest single thing there is about Obama: He thinks that this kind of theft, followed by distribution of stolen goods, is a GOOD idea, and objects when a court doesn't do it.

Its amusing and quite scary that every time Obama plainly states his opinion on something his followers try to act like he didnt say it.
If Obama is so smart and his ideas so great, why not just trumpet it?

CBS Evening News Spikes Newly Found Obama 'Redistributive' Audio
By Brent Baker
October 27, 2008 - 21:57 ET
YouTube postings over the weekend divulged a 2001 radio interview in which Barack Obama regretted that “the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society,” but though John McCain on Monday cited this new evidence of Obama's long-standing advocacy of redistributing wealth, the CBS Evening News offered nothing more than a McCain soundbite surrounded by reporter Chip Reid discrediting the criticism as he relayed the Obama campaign's charge McCain had made a “false, desperate attack” and Reid bemoaned: “If the events of today are any guide, this is a campaign that is taking an increasingly negative tone in the last week.”
In contrast, the NBC Nightly News at least ran a short audio clip of Obama from 2001: “The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth.” ABC's World News, in a piece by Ron Claiborne, aired a much longer audio soundbite from Obama:
One of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change.
In his Monday night CBS Evening News story, Reid began with McCain attacking Obama on economic policy before maintaining “the focus on the economy soon became blurred as Republicans launched a series of new attacks on Obama.” Reid cited an unnamed “independent Republican group” (National Republican Trust) which “announced plans to start airing attack ads featuring [Jeremiah] Wright” and “McCain himself jumped into the fray. He regularly accuses Obama of wanting to spread the wealth, but today he added a new line of attack.” Viewers then heard from McCain: “In a radio interview that was revealed today, he said that quote, 'one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement' is that it didn't bring about a redistribution of wealth in our society.”
Instead of playing an illustrative clip, as did ABC and NBC, Reid went immediately to the Obama campaign's retort:
The Obama campaign said McCain was taking a seven-year-old interview out of context and accused McCain of deciding to close out his campaign with the same false desperate attacks that have failed for months.

The obamabots repeatedly say they want to concentrate on the issues. That is double speak for "we don't want anyone looking into the messiahs past". The real issue is his past. A lack of experience, lost years and sealing documents and records that might show him in a bad light. The economy will do what it does. The president has no real effect on it.
It's not the economy. It's the security of the country stupid.

As the tape shows, Lord Obama believes it is fine to take more of the money people earn - and give it people who did not earn it
I would like to know why Obama supporters think they are entitled to other peoples money, and how it will imporve their lives if they get it
Obama is "promising" each working family a $1000.00
Well, I remember the #1 talking point when Pres Bush had his tax cut passed. Libs whined how it was such a tiny cut for the middle class - they could buy a muffler with what it amounted to per week
Well, what is $1000 divided by 52 equal?
But don't worry, the Obama governbment will get that money back from the middle class whith all the other tax increases he wants to pass
Nearly everyone will pay more in taxes - assuming you get to keep your job when companies start cutting back as the economy sinks under the weight of the increased taxes

I fully agree with you on this. But none of it will mean shit if AQ or someone else manages to set off a nuke in a major city or two. Or if our freedoms are taken away by trashing the constitution. As mfm said, with control of all the branches they would be able to do anything they want. He could even establish sharia law as the law of the land. They will do whatever it takes to maintain their power after they get it.

I fully agree with you as well. The only hope we have is that Dems and Lord obama will overplay their hand as Bill Clinton did - and CONSERVATIVE Republicans make huge gaines in the first midterm election and block the insane liberalism
Then in 2012, a CONSERVATIVE Republican send Lord Obama back home to the Windy City
Meanwhile, we hope the terrorists are to damn stupid to take advantage of the incomptence of the messiah
