McCain has cut into Obama's lead for the second day and is now just 1.1 points behind. The spread was 6 points Tuesday and 3.7 Wednesday.
Now it is just 1.1 points.
Obama can't seem to get his base support above 80% among Dems, while McCain's is in the mid to upper 90% support among base Republicans. Hillary supporters won't go above 58% for him, while McCain month after month gains among Hillary supporters - now around 30%.
Obama was ahead by 11 pts. among Catholics, now McCain is ahead by 9 pts among Catholics.
McCain is making gains in practically every group and demographic group, while Obama support among practically every group and demographic group continues to erode
