This shit head can't buy a Presidency over a 72 year old for 605 MILLION DOLLARS??????? He wants 10 dollars more from everyone????? And this is the genius you clowns want spending our tax dollars???? Pathetic, this low life piece of shit owes everyone, especially George Soros.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/10/obama-money.html
With $605 million already, Obama asks only $10 more from each of us
Having hauled in a record $208,333 every hour of every day last month -- $150 million in all -- plus a few more unreported millions so far this month, Barack Obama is worried that he might come up short in the political money war with the John McCain-Sarah Palin ticket.
Just to relieve himself of that $150 million before the polls open, Obama will have to spend $12.5 million a day.
But he needs some more.
And, according to an e-mail plea to supporters, tonight's the absolute deadline to donate $10 more and receive your special edition Official Obama-Biden car magnet.
Having now collected more than $605 million altogether, the freshman senator shows no concern over the appearance of buying the presidency. Imagine for a moment the national political conversation that could be going on now if rich Republicans had raked in that much loot for one campaign.
Obama's team is so well-funded and well-organized it has spread its political web into one-time red states, forcing McCain to defend them with his measly $84.1 million in federal funds.
Obama aides privately profess profound concern that additional financial resources from the Republican National Committee could make the GOP ticket competitive in the closing days. And the Cincinatti Bengals are a real Super Bowl threat this year.
"The race is deadlocked in a number of crucial battleground states," the urgent e-mail proclaims, "including Ohio, Missouri and Indiana. And we're neck-and-neck in Florida, North Carolina and Nevada.
"We have to make our final, tough decisions about where to fight and how strong we can make our team. And those choices will depend on the financial resources we have."

actually, I think the overkill in funding is designed to lengthen the coattails. If we get 60 senators, we can wipe away most of the stench of Bush before the spring time. And I think Hillary would be an excellent replacement for Justice Stevens, don't you?
what happens to the surplus funds after election?

On what grounds would the former wife of a lousy President, a door mat, a failed Presidential campaigner, a weak ass lawyer who hasn't practiced in 2 decades and an ineffectual Senator, qualify for the Supreme Court. And you people were whining about Harriet Miers, at least she was a practicing attorney for the President of the United States.
You become a bigger joke with every post. You will even justify spending over a half BILLION dollars to try to get into the White House....... pathetic. George Soros did say he would spend a billion to get rid of George Bush and presumedly put a person of his choice to front for him as President.

Hillary Clinton is a practicing attorney and a wise politician. What judicial qualifications did Earl Warren possess before Eisenhower nominated HIM to be Chief Justice?
who cares? He can ask for as much money as he wants, and it's up to the indivdual to decide wheathe to donate or not, their choice.

A wise politician who was the assumed Presidential candidate and still lost to a punk little faggot with 143 days experience showing up, kind of, to the Senate........ I wouldn't even call that a "soso" politician. Where is Hillary practicing law?
I don't give a shit about Earl Warren, stay in the here and now if you can. What does the wife of a former lousy President bring to the Supreme Court and why would being a politician be a qualification for Judgeship?:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

I care. Are you that naive to believe the bull shit that 605 MILLION DOLLARS was collected by the poor sending 5 dollars a piece that they recycled aluminum cans to get? George Soros is the major backing of the skinny punk asswipe from Chicago, capital city of corrupt politics.
the thread is about obama asking everyone for $10 more no? So I don't see where George the puck fits into the $10 request.

You don't find it a bit repulsive that someone that brought in 150 MILLION DOLLARS last month is asking for more? McCain is working with 84 Million, total, public funding....... the same funding that Barry pledged to take until he talked to Soros, then he broke his promise. He is a liar and a cheat and been that way his whole life.

Because someone that contributes $10 doesn't get named in reporting it, and soros can add another $1989 to that donation with none being the wiser. All they need are the names of contributors. How much is contributed is irrelevant. And besides he needs the money to pay for his satellite channel and the flood of commercials he is going to run. Plus all those bribes to pay for. It all gets real expensive.

what happens to all the surplus money people donated for the campaign, once the campaign is over? does he give it back?

Here is how libs reacted when it was Pres Bush raising the cash
President Bush Prepares To Drown 2004 Presidential Race in Campaign Money; Demonstrates Importance of Fixing Presidential Campaign Financing System
Tuesday, July 08, 2003
With President Bush’s effort underway to raise $200 million in campaign contributions for his uncontested presidential primary election, the presidential public financing system enacted in the wake of the Watergate scandal is about to be swamped.
The Bush fundraising drive is dramatizing the need to fix this system for the future.
In testimony on January 31, 2003 before a blue ribbon panel created by the Campaign Finance Institute, Democracy 21 President Fred Wertheimer pointed out that repairing the presidential system is not “a matter of finding substantive solutions to the problems that exist,” but rather of “whether the political will exists to fix a system that has served our nation well.” At stake here, Wertheimer noted, “is a fundamental question for Americans: Just whose presidency is this, the citizens’ or the contributors’?”
In his testimony, Wertheimer presented a proposal developed by Democracy 21 and Common Cause to reform the presidential public financing system. (Wertheimer’s testimony and the reform proposal are available at www.democracy21.org. The proposal is also summarized beginning on page 3 of this report.)
Two Commissioners of the Federal Election Commission, Democrat Scott Thomas and Republican Michael Toner also have presented a proposal for reforming the presidential financing system. (Op-ed articles by Thomas and Toner on their reform proposal appeared in The New York Times on July 1, 2003 and The Washington Post on July 6, 2003, respectively, and are available at www.democracy21.org.)
In order to raise $200 million, President Bush has established a new elite group of fundraisers, known as the Rangers, who are responsible for raising at least $200,000 each for the 2004 Bush primary race. For their efforts, this elite core of “big” fundraisers will receive special access and influence, undermining a principal goal of the presidential financing system – to prevent campaign money from buying presidential influence.
To raise $200 million, furthermore, Bush fundraisers will focus heavily on $2,000 donors instead of on the smaller contributors the presidential primary system is designed to encourage by matching contributions up to $250 with public funds. They will turn to Corporate America for these contributions, and to “bundled” $2,000 contributions from a number of business executives of a company or an industry with interests pending in Washington, again undermining the presidential system.
In other words, in raising an unprecedented, unnecessary and excessive $200 million for an uncontested presidential primary race, President Bush is undermining the financing system designed to protect the integrity of the office he holds.

No I don't find it repulsive, he is allows to ask as much as he wants and revive whatever he gets given, are you suggesting that Obama has steped over the limit, if so what is the limit? Would it be ok if he'd raised 80 mil? What about 90? Or 100?...

I don't consider his reconsideration of ways to fund his presidential campaign to be a problem in any way. If he significantly changed his position on health care or education or Iraq, I would definitely have issues.
Your article about Bush had to do with his raising money for a primary campaign when he had no opponents, by the way.

Long story... but let's just say that the phrase what comes around goes around applies to the treatment of the left and the right. Who's to say who started it? But, according to the right (of which I was a part) the scum of the earth was better than Bill Clinton.
