CNN lies during Palin interview

As if we needed more proof the liberal media in this country puts state run media in communist nations to shame, we get this cherry from none other than CNN.

In a blantant misquote in an attempt to ambush Palin during an interview, Griffen completely takes a quote from a conservative out of contex. Thankfully Palin had the smarts to call him on it. No retraction yet from the "best name in news".

York was actually critizing the liberal media's unfair treatment of Palin, a 9 year old would be able to understand that by reading the actual quote. So either Griffen is thousand times dumber than they accuse Palin of being, or he is just another liberal gas-bag for Obama who is willing to lie to try to destroy Palin.

This is a complete distortion, a falsehood. The full quote from the National Review's Byron York shows he was in fact dressing down the media, NOT Gov. Palin. "Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it's sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or - or, well, all of the above."

Palin immediately went on to question Griffin who wrote the supposed quote, and Griffen immediately became a studdering moron and couldn't even name who supposedly said it. Great journalism CNN.

Yes, there are legitimate concerns about Palin’s lack of experience. Who wouldn’t, at the very least, wish that she had more time in the governor’s office on her résumé? But a look at Palin’s 20 months in power, along with interviews with people who worked with her, shows her to be a serious executive, a governor who picked important things to do and got them done — and who didn’t just stumble into an 80 percent job-approval rating.

McCain should make a public statement about CNN's coverage and refer people who agree with him that CNN was very unfair to go to his website.

On his website he should list all the advertisers for CNN and ask all people that agree CNN was unfair to call the advertisers to demand that CNN announce hourly retractions and take out full page ads on all newspapers up to the election or the advertisers will be boycotted.

Recall when Newt Gingrich described how he wanted to form a new, stronger government agency to run Social Security, which could resolve conflicts and get more people the benefits they had been promised all their lives. Once that new agency was running things, he said, the old SS agency didn't have to be abruptly shut down, but could be left to "wither on the vine".

The unbiased media immediately began screaming that "Gingrich says Social Security should be abandoned and left to wither on the vine!!!" And that "story" gained wide circulation and was repeatedly reported as "truth" on every news channel and outlet.

The difference between then and now?

Now, the media's lie was caught and debunked much more quickly.

CNN investigative correspondent Drew Griffin appeared on Thursday’s Newsroom and Situation Room programs to explain how "in no way did I intend to misquote" from a recent article by National Review’s Byron York: "This exchange aired just once in the 6 pm hour, and as soon as the National Review brought it to our attention at 7:05, we immediately realized the context could be misconstrued. We cut that portion of the interview. It never aired again." Griffin also mentioned how he had "since called Byron York and his editor Rich Lowry, explained what happened, and told them both that I regret any harm this may have brought."

In an interview excerpt aired on Tuesday's Situation Room (NB post with video), Griffin had told Sarah Palin: “The National Review had a story saying that, you know, 'I can't tell if Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, or all of the above.'” In fact, York was mocking media coverage of Palin: “Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for Vice President, it's sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward or -- well, all of the above."

Griffin first appeared seven minutes into the 2 pm Eastern hour of Newsroom. Anchor Kyra Phillips asked the correspondent about the criticism he had received over the misquotation. He played a clip of the question, and explained the impression he had of the interview overall. He then played the initial exchange he had with Governor Palin over the "botched" quote, and most of her answer.
