Elwyn Tinklenberg’s congressional campaign received roughly $450,000 in contributions in the 24 hours following U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann’s controversial talk show appearance on Friday afternoon, campaign officials said today.

More than 9,000 individual donors contributed to the DFL- and Independence Party-endorsed challenger’s campaign from around the country, mostly through the Internet, said Tinklenberg spokesman John Wodele.

Tinklenberg received about $250,000 of the donations directly through the campaign’s Web site, while another $200,000 came through ActBlue, a progressive political action committee that allows people to donate to particular candidates online, Wodele said.................

I have met her personally on a few occasions and I have been able to talk to her one-on-one, most recent was the Game Fair in August.

Jason Lewis (who fills in for Rush periodically) mentioned the controversy on 10/21 and today, and he gave some good info on Tinkerbell. I really don't see how the media could possibly make the unAmerican congresswoman look any worse than she does all on her own. She, after all, is in control of what comes out of her own mouth and to tell you the truth it ain't pretty and it ain't American. She is a simple neoMcCarthyite and that is abundantly clear.

Of course the media would portray her as what you say. She's conservative and one of the few that didn't change their vote on the bailout bill (she voted no both times). When Pelosi decided to shut down congress, Bachmann stayed in Washington and took shifts with other members to actually get work done.

Besides, Tinklebell used to be transportation commissioner for the state. He was fired because he was caught red-handed giving no-bid contracts to his friends. He was fired for conflict of interest and ethics violations.
