CHICAGO - Flush that, "Joe the Plumber"!

Barack Obama's own toilet and sink repairman came to his client's defense yesterday - saying newly famous plumber Joe Wurzelbacher needs a reality check.

Troy Dunn, 44, a licensed journeyman working for Boersma Plumbing in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood, where Obama lives, told The Post that Wurzelbacher was bad news for the profession.

"That Joe the Plumber isn't even a licensed plumber," said the Democrat, union member and strong Obama supporter.

"He's taking our work. [John] McCain talks about the middle class, and then he brings up this guy as his champion. The middle class is being hurt by people exactly like him," said Dunn, who lives in the Chicago suburb of Oak Forest and has an 8-year-old daughter.

"The biggest problem for this industry is that people like him turn up, unlicensed and working illegally, and they take work away from people who are working aboveboard."

Dunn said he began working on Obama's house - and its six bathrooms - four years ago and has returned roughly every six months to do such tasks as fix leaky faucets and, in one case, investigate a "bad smell."

And here you thought the issue was whether Barack Obama's tax policies would hurt small businesses and cause them to create fewer jobs and hire less people... and the revelation that Obama wants to tax one group to hand their wealth to another group.

You silly people!

This overriding national issue here, is whether a guy in Ohio has a state-approved license for how he's been earning his living for the past umpteen years.

That's what's really important! Some other guy in Illinois said so!

It is not, repeat not, important that Obama wants to take your money and give it to someone else. Remember that. NOT important.

Obviously Troy Dunn would think differently if ole Joe was a union member. I wonder if Joe is or not? It doesn't really matter.

I'm sure Dunn also knows that tons of union and non-union plumbers, electricians, Hvac and carpenters work everyday across the USA under someone else's license, it's common practice.

The claim "He's taking our work" has been a baseless BS claim of the unions for over 40 yrs. Unions are failing and have been losing work in this country for many yrs..for good reason, No one likes extortion.

Place the blame where it belongs and it's not with Joe.

I was watching some news channel earlier today and it seems there are a few "Joe the plumbers" getting a vast amount of calls now. One man said he had received over 50 calls since that piece hit the airways. He had to keep telling them he wasn't the same Joe, the plumber, but a different one. That would certainly get annoying very quickly.
