that is not the point. the point is: income redistribution has been around since income tax has been around...all that has ever been done is politicians playing around with the percentages. When I was growing up in an affluent family, my Dad was being taxed at nearly 90%... and we still lived high on the hog and all the kids had cars and we belonged to the country club and my Dad paid full freight for my siblings to go to college and he still died extremely wealthy. For you to suggest that Obama wanting to bump the marginal tax rate a few percentage points for the wealthiest Americans is now, all of a sudden SOCIALISM when republican Dwight Eisenhower had a marginal tax rate more than TWICE that is just plane silly.
and my guess is... under Obama, YOU'LL see a tax decrease stephanie.

The problem is not the taxes it is what he plans on doing with them.

If we are in a war and taxes need to be collected to support that war that is one thing. If we are raising taxes on some people just to give other people a free ride that is something completely different.

Obama is not interested in fixing America with higher taxes. Obama wants to pander to the people who will vote to put him in office as well as pad the pockets of the liberal associations that got him there.
