If you accept that Obama was somehow responsible for the market crash of last week then you also have to accept that the good news of his increasing lead over McCain is responsible for the largest single day increase in market value in the history of the market such as happened today.
Hmmmmmm,,,,,,,,,,,,,these fuckin' geniuses we have around here!!!!!!!!

Everyone knows that Bush was responsible for the crash last week, just like everyone knows he's responsible for today's record climb.

Why? My impulse was to credit the governments that infused literally trillions of dollars into the markets via banks.
That we will likely pay for that in hyperinflation down the road, well another day.

I'll tell you what Psycho.....if you will answer one question for me, and make the math add up.......I"LL GO IN THE BOOTH AND VOTE OBAMA!
Obama said he will give 95% of Americans a tax cut! That is a direct quote as you well know...OK..If only 60 % of Americans pay any (that's ANY) taxes at all, how do you give a tax cut to someone who does not pay tax?
Bonus question: How many DBA businesses in America gross under 250,000? So would it be safe to assume that he intends to raise their taxes?
My point: You Democrats are living a lie! It's plain and simple. The man has no idea what he is talking about. I or you could do a better job of addressing the economical problems facing America than Obama......or McCain for that matter!
The offer is out to all lefties........explain to me how 95% of Americans can get a tax cut when onloy 60% pay taxes. Who will dare? Maybe that genius Midcan would like to try, or Gabby maybe? How about Joe Steel....I'm ready!

So you are saying that Bush's unprecedented moves towards economic socialism caused the climb..............interesting.

Hey...this is a board loaded with loyal conservatives and republicans. What has gone wrong with the McCain campaign? The governor of Florida bailed on a McCain campaign event to go to disneyland instead...Tommy Thompson said he is unhappy with the campaign and doesn't know anyone who isn't. Wm Kristol suggested that McCain fire his entire campaign staff.... these are guys on YOUR side.... experienced politicians and not merely koolaid sucking footsoldiers like you all... why would you think that they would all say that? Why would you think that McCain continues to slip in poll after poll after poll? What spin do you put on all of that? What spin will you put on a landslide on 11/4? Really...seriously... you should start thinking about answering questions like that.... you will need to have them polished in short order.

what is to answer, i don't think any of us are die hard mccain fans...and oh boy all your post does is prove that republicans/conservatives do not put party over country and have no problem bailing on mccain, something you would never do with obama :laugh2:

but why do you think that so many americans are flocking to Obama now? Why is he viewed as better in a crisis, better on the economy? And I would DEFINITELY bail on Obama if he did not espouse the views of the democratic party platform, btw.
And it is nice to see you admit that even long time republicans feel that Obama is better for the country than McCain. thanks.

The conservatives can blame this on anyone they like. Fact is that they have been in control for 28 of the last 40 years. Even Tricky Dicky thought deregulation foolish but conservative thought prevailed despite his warnings!!!!!!!!!

any conservative who would rather vote for a third party candidate in 2008 knows that his or her vote is totally synonymous with a vote for Obama... which would seem to me to indicate that an Obama presidency is really not as scary to you all as you would have us believe.

it is irrelevent that a vote for a TP/Barr/Green may or may not be a vote for obama....the fact is...just because voters are leaving mccain does not mean they support obama. in that you were wrong and it is clear you are obfuscating the issue by making it seem that you simply referred to any vote other than mccain is really a vote for obama. you did not say that, you said they were leaving mccain and flocking to obama.
quite different, but then you know that, it just hurts your ego that you got called on it by me
i fully support people voting TP, that is their right. and that right is not tied in with an obama presidency or a mccain presidency, it is their fundamental right to use that vote to shake up washington.

I fully support people's rights to vote third party as well. I hope that many many registered republicans do exactly that.
And...did you READ the article from conservative republican Christopher Buckley, son of William F. Buckley like I asked you to? of course not. why am I not surprised?

that guy is full of himself....what a worthless pile of tripe and nonsense
obama has the "potential" to be a good leader....whereas he points out mccain, virtually alone, made the decision for the surge which he notes was political suicide and it worked...<--that is a good leader, not a potential
and the guy leaves out that the investigator wanted mccain out of the investigation but the other dems, as mccain was the only repub, would not let mccain off...that makes me think this guy is full shittle
the rest is pure opinion as to mccain irascibility, attacks and going to washington to try and fix the economy...i applaud mccain for putting a campaign aside to get to work, anyone who doesn't obviously thinks campaigning is more important than doing your job as a senator...and the attacks should have come earlier, so at least they are coming now....then again, the truth to dems and buckley are "attacks"

The Audacity of Nope
by Christopher Buckley
One feels almost unpatriotic, entertaining negative thoughts about Obama’s grand plan. But it is far from clear that spending oceanic sums of money is the right corrective.
That was, as Tom Lehrer would say, the week that was. President Barack Obama gave his first State of the Union speech. Governor Bobby Jindal gave his first and possibly last Republican response. The president presented a $3.6 trillion budget, and announced that we are getting out of Iraq but not really. And Rush Limbaugh gave—as he put it, fun intended—his first nationally televised address to the nation.
Just remember the apothegm that a government that is big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take it all away.
Hold on—there’s a typo in that paragraph. “$3.6 trillion budget” can’t be right. The entire national debt is—what—about $11 trillion? He can’t actually be proposing to spend nearly one-third of that in one year, surely. Let me check. Hmm. He did. The Wall Street Journal notes that federal outlays in fiscal 2009 will rise to almost 30 percent of the gross national product. In language that even an innumerate English major such as myself can understand: The US government is now spending annually about one-third of what the entire US economy produces. As George Will would say, “Well.”...
