A Chill Hits the North Pole

The grim announcement has just been made by chief elf Make em Good.
“It was just a matter of time really, Santa has been laid off” said chief elf Make em Good.
“We have tried everything but have failed. Demand is down and money is tight. We just can’t make our payroll, feed the reindeer or maintain the sleigh.
With the current world economic crisis it’s just not cost effect to expend the energy to cruise the world in one night this year and give away free stuff, next year is in question at this time.
One hundred elves recently laid off are relocating to a warmer climate. Funding for their unexpected vacation is included in the current bail out plan.
Santa mumbling, “that Bush, this will be a dark Christmas” has entered treatment for depression and delusions at an undisclosed location,” said Good.
Mrs. Claus is accompanying the elves.
