... this question is open to supporters of both Presidential candidates. The election is over. Your candidate was defeated soundly. You are looking back on the campaign and thinking, 'you know, if we had only run {insert another candidate's names} instead of {insert your candidate's name} things would have been different. Who's name would fit in that first blank?
Second question is the same except that change it to Vice Presidential candidates. If your Presidential nominee selected a different running mate things would be different.
Note: this is a hypothetical question and YOUR CANDIDATE LOST! You can't say, my candidate is the best so I choose him/her.
Note: my candidate has already lost. No third party candidate has a chance in hell of winning, unfortunately. Since, I am pulling for a McCain victory over Obama, I'd have to say probably Mitt Romney although he was not my first choice either.

If only we'd run a ticket of Chuck Norris and Caprica 6. (sigh).

Good hypothetical. Seriously I think we have a serious political problem caused no doubt by the total lack of privacy to those running for office. There were no candidates from either the Republican or Democratic side I can say I was enthusiastic over. Literally little choice between all of them.
What I can say, regardless whether McCain or Obama, I hope they outperform by a long shot all my pessimism.

Good point.
I completely agree. It is obvious that I am down on Obama, but McCain is not much better. My biggest concern about Senator Obama is his radical associates. His socialistic ideas will of course be curtailed by Congress, but I'm concerned about the company Senator Obama keeps.
It is pessimism that makes me feel that way. I hope I can look back in 2012 or 2016 which ever the case may be and think, my pessimism in 2008 was unfounded. I did that in 2000 after eight years of President Clinton, why not do it again?
I continue to pray for President Bush and all our leaders and will continue to do so no matter who wins next month.

I would like to have learned more about Judge Roy Moore. I looked very closely at The Constitution Party and had they picked Moore instead of Baldwin in addition to actually having a ground game I would gone that way.

immie,
as with others, neither are my candidate, so i can easily say...if we had run Hillary as the candidate, things would be different...putting her in either the president position or the vp position....
and as far as mccain, i think Romney as a vp, with this financial crisis, could have given him the upper hand.
but "what ifs" will get me nowhere....
I will say that thru this election campaign ...
I have lost quite a bit of respect for McCain that I once had at one time, i have seen a side of him that is very unbecoming.
And I have not gained any respect for Obama thru this process either.
As you have stated, I will try to respect whoever becomes our president and pray for them daily to be guided in the right direction for all of us.

My candidate was always Romney. I like his governing style.
I cant say ill be thrilled no matter who wins. But i will be alittle less upset if McCain wins over Obama.
