View Full Version : John McCain: Suspected by Joe Steel Tax Cheat

Looks like McCain is filing fraudulent tax returns.
According to a New York Times article of September 27, 2008 "For McCain and Team, a Host of Ties to Gambling," reported by Jo Becker and Don VanNatta Jr., McCain gambled at the MGM Grand in May 2007.
Apparently McCain is a habitual gambler; he usually plays craps. He even says, "I am a gambling man."
Gambling has tax implications. According to IRS Publication 17, "Your Federal Income Tax", 2007 edition, page 89 "Gambling Winnings. You must include your gambling winnings in income on Form 1040, line 21. If you itemize your deductions on Schedule A (Form 1040), you can deduct gambling losses you had during the year, but only up to the amount of your winnings." In other words, you can't subtract your losses from your winnings and just not report. You have to report the winnings, and then claim the losses.
But McCain's tax returns say nothing about gambling winnings or losses.

Joe, please provide proof of McCain's specific winnings, not heresy. And if it's an ironclad case, why hasn't the IRS gotten involved? Save your conspiracies for your dimwitted buddies and stick to the facts.

It's an unimpeachable souce but I checked his returns for '06 and '07 anyway. They don't show any gambling winnings. Either he's lying or he's a very bad gambler.

This could be trouble. Unless he's a very bad gambler and never wins anything, his tax returns should show some winnings.
The 72-year-old senator from Arizona is a lifelong gambler, who favours the craps tables, and continues to play today, the New York Times reported.

Again, where is the proof? Surely the IRS would be onto this, every casino he's been to would have records.
And let's suppose he did lose, since you cannot prove anything at all, wouldn't it be a bit premature for someone to label him as a cheat with ZILCH for proof?
Come back when you have something other than hot air and we'll discuss.

Maybe he just didn't gamble in '06 and '07. I don't think so but maybe.
”In the past decade (McCain) has played on Mississippi riverboats, on Indian land, in Caribbean craps pits and along the length of the Las Vegas Strip,” Time reported, quoting aides as saying that the senator plays for thousands of dollars at a time.
A New Yorker profile of McCain in 2005 suggested even more reckless gambling routines in which the senator would spend 14-hour stints at Las Vegas gambling tables, from 10 a.m. to midnight.

joe steele is in a hot air balloon realizes he is lost. he lowers his altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below.
He shouts to him, 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.'
The man consults his portable GPS and replies, 'You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.
He rolls her eyes and says, 'You must be a Republican!'
'I am,' replies the man. 'How did you know?'
'Well,' answers the balloonist, 'Everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me.'
The man smiles and responds, 'You must be a Democrat.'
'I am,' replies the balloonist. 'How did you know?'
'Well,' says the man, 'You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault.

I didn't indict him based on hearsay. This is a discussion of the evidence and there's enough to suspect him of tax evasion.
I doubt anyone with his obsession would have no winnings. He spends hours and hours at the craps table. He must have won something. Let him tell us why he didn't report it or deny the winnings.
Or, are you afraid to discover your guy is a crook?

Joe, when a gambler wins more than $600 the establishment MUST get the winners social security number and report it to the IRS. In fact, most establishments will take the taxes on the spot.
Where did you provide evidence that these establishments provided the info to the IRS? Or are you additionally claiming they were in on defrauding the IRS?

The house has to furnish a W2-G at the end of the year. That's why they take the information. McCain's returns show no gambling winnings or related withholding. Either he didn't win or he's not reporting his winnings. I think the latter is more likely.

For example
New York State has issued a tax warrant against Keith Olbermann for failure to pay taxes on his humbly named personal corporation, Olbermann Broadcasting Empire, Inc. Olbermann is listed in legal records as the President of Olbermann Broadcasting Empire, Inc.
A call to the Albany County Clerk's Office in upstate New York confirmed that the warrant is still outstanding and that Olbermann has still failed to pay his back taxes. State records show that Olbermann's company failed to pay $2,269.50 in state taxes. A judgement was entered against Olbermann last summer (Docket Date: 8/21/2007), just weeks before Olbermann closed on a a luxurious $4.2 mm condo at Trump Palace, at 200 East 69th Street.

OK Joey, then we have the Dem who writes the tax laws cheating on his taxes
September 6, 2008 --
Controversial Rep. Charles Rangel, already under fire for not paying
taxes on income from a beachfront villa he owns in a Dominican resort,
also got an interest-free mortgage on the sun-soaked property, his
lawyer revealed yesterday.
The embattled chairman of the Ways and Means Committee got the
mortgage deal along with six other investors in the Caribbean resort,
founded by a major campaign contributor.
His lawyer, Lanny Davis, also conceded that the Harlem Democrat didn't
declare about $75,000 in rental income from his lush villa with
panoramic ocean views at the Punta Cana Yacht Club.
Now, sources said, congressional Republicans are weighing whether to
publicly call on Rangel to abandon his top post on the committee,
which deals with tax-writing.
"Charlie Rangel is the designated leader on tax policy in the Democrat-
led Congress, but while he is authoring massive tax hikes to exact on
middle-class Americans, he is apparently dodging the IRS at all
costs," said Ken Spain, spokesman for the National Republican
Congressional Committee.
The National Legal and Policy Center in Virginia urged the IRS to open
a probe, saying, "NLPC believes that even the latest admissions are
far from the full truth and that the amount of income not properly
reported . . . is far in excess of the amount admitted."

Gambling winnings are fully taxable and must be reported on your tax return. You must file Form 1040 (PDF) and include all of your winnings. Gambling income includes, but is not limited to, winnings from lotteries, raffles, horse races, and casinos. It includes cash winnings and also the fair market value of prizes such as cars and trips. For additional information, refer to Publication 525, Taxable and Nontaxable Income.
A payer is required to issue you a Form W-2G (PDF) if you receive certain gambling winnings or if you have any gambling winnings subject to Federal income tax withholding. All gambling winnings must be reported irrespective as to whether any portion thereof is subject to withholding. in addition, you may be required to pay an estimated tax on your gambling winnings. For information on withholding on gambling winnings, refer to Publication 505, Tax Withholding and Estimated Tax.

Where did you get that?
If I walk into a casino and bet a dollar on a slot machine and win a dollar, there is NO expectation that I claim said dollar on a tax return. In the real world, you only claim what shows up on a W-2G. Those are the only winnings even remotely documented. If there are no W-2Gs for McCain's play noone can prove he won a dime.

Don't hold your breath. He's been asked for proof on several things since this site has been in operation and NEVER provides anything to backup his lame claims. He'll come back with what he thinks is a witty comment but will only be furthering his stupidity.
Do a search on his username and his stated location, people think he's a dumb fuck all over the place! :laugh2:

No, dumbass. I've linked to a number of articles about McCain's gambing addiction. They raise questions of his compliance with the law about reporting winnings.

Of course, because some article says McCain has a gambling addiction (with absolutely no evidence its true), we should therefore conclude that he is guilty of tax fraud.
You realize there is absolutely no connection with the two, dont you?

Nonsense. We have eyewitness reports of McCain's marathon gambling sessions. Unless he's a very bad gambler, he must have won something and it had to be reported but he didn't. Why?

Where's the proof he won anything? Surely if your claiming outright that he defrauded the IRS you have something other than gossipers claiming he has an addiction.
