It wouldn't surprise me if he announced that the Federal Government would be taking control of all banks, credit unions, savings & loans, mutual funds and brokerage firms in order to stabilize the market. From now on all these institutions would be owned and operated by the Internal Revenue Service so that they can more effectively monitor your income.

Georgia provoked Russia. Although Obama didn't say so, he probably realized the only equitable solution to the affair was letting Russia do whatever had to be done. I don't know what Obama is planning but I'd start with nationalizing the credit industry as Marx suggested. It's the only way to get control of a critical portion of the US economy.

Given the recent failure of most republican decisions, Iraq, taxes, SS, Obama deserves credit for not being so naive as to think solutions are so easy, invading countries will solve them, or consider Chicago isn't close enough to Russia so he can gain foreign affairs experience.
