Palin and Alaska's Muslim Population

Most Alaskans may seem excited about Gov. Sarah Palin’s selection as John McCain’s running mate. But there’s at least one group of her constituents that has had a more subdued reaction: the state’s Muslims. There are only about 2,000 to 3,000 Muslims in Alaska, and, while there are no mosques, Anchorage (which is home to most of the state's Muslims) does have an Islamic Community Center, located in a rented office in a strip mall, where members pray on Fridays. But Osama Obeida, the center’s vice president, said his group has never had any contacts at all with Alaska’s governor. No meetings, no invitations to state ceremonies, no pro forma letters commemorating the observance of Islamic holy days. “She has never taken the initiative,” Obeidi told NEWSWEEK.

And if she HAD arranged a meeting, they'd be accusing her of collaborating or appeasing. If this unsubstantial shit is the best they can come up with, they're in huge trouble come November.

That only begs the question, what have you done to take the initiative with the Gov? Have you ever invited her to any of your festivals? Have you asked her to any of your meetings? Have you opened up your community to her or other non-muslims?

I highly doubt the bloggers that are spreading these lies have ever been to Alaska. They don't have to prove their lies they only need to get people thinking that there is something wrong (even if it isn't this smear campaign, "Where there's smoke; there's fire) in Alaska just long enough to get Obama elected.

After that, no one cares.

Hey, that alone is good enough to get my vote. She didn't pander to muslims, ahhh poor muslims.
