The McCain/Palin ticket wins 49.7% support, compared to 45.9% backing for the Obama/Biden ticket, this latest online survey shows. Another 4.4% either favored someone else or were unsure.

I cant remember a Dim being this far behind at this point in an election cycle in my years of voting. Berry might be in trouble.

Uhhhhhhh, go to realclearpolitics.com where they take an average of all polls done in America and you will find them in a dead heat. nOw with that said in America(maybe y'all didn't know this) we elect the pres by electoral college votes and in that Johnny Lib is getting thrashed and Obama is ahead in most swing states with exception of Florida.
This is good news because a loss will be good therapy for the Republican Party.

Eh... Real clear politics is always a few days behind trends.

I trust Zogby as far as I can throw him. His polls are notoriously inaccurate, usually in support of Ds. I'm surprised he has one showing an R ahead in any race at all.
I prefer the averages on realclearpolitics and if it is a single one, Rasmussen has never led me wrong...

You don't honestly believe they would learn from a good clean trouncing, do you?

Maybe, that is his thought here.
I mean looking back over the last eight years, Democrats seem pretty convinced that scare tactics work. Maybe, Zogby is thinking, I'm going to scare the Obama faithfuls into getting out there and voting? :laugh2:

...
Good point, Immie. And there is just as much chance that Republicans would see a big loss as a message to go further to the middle/left.
Very risky plan, imo.

Yea, you got to wonder how many non-registered voters, and non elgible voters (like illegal immigrants) take part in some of these polls. You know what party they lean towards....the free hand outs one.
I absolutely love how everyone here conveniently ignore the electoral college results.........as if we elect a pres by popular vote........ROTFLMFAO!
Face it, it will be good for the Repub party for McCain to lose, which looks likely. If you care about the party and conservatism you don't support John "I work with Ted Kennedy" McCain

Yea, the national polls are absolutely worthless. It all comes down to the few battleground states.

Perhaps it would be best for the Party for him to lose. But that is hardly what is best for the country. Personally, I am not a Republican so I could give a shit about the party, I care more about who is going to be the best Commander in Chief. We must not let that inexperienced shitbag socialist Obama get into the White House.

Regardless, the State by State polls do not come out with the same regularity as the national polls. Those polls tell us the trends. And to tell the truth it is up for McCain at this moment in time. 57 days left to go.
As for whether I think a loss would be good for the party... I can't say. I know it would be bad for the nation. I prefer to think of the nation first rather than the party. It may sound quirky, but that is how I think.

The liberal moonbats are not in a good mood over the current polls, and the trend
From the Daily Kos
I think things are bleak for Obama. He's not a great debater and John Kerry actually was quite good. His media campaign sucks.
Axelrod should hang his head in Shame. Never have we had such an incompetent "strategist".
I think I'm going to cry. I know that's not helpful in any way. I should probably just keep it to myself. But 10 POINTS!!!! Oh dear. I wish the debates were sooner. The first one is 20 days away.
I want to scream! What is wrong with all of these stupid idiots! Do people really want four more years of the same bullsh--!!!! When will they learn? When our nation is in ruins?
