Michael Moore: Hurricane Coming During GOP Convention 'Proof There Is a God

Sometime you really have wonder at what cost some are willing to see their political ideology advanced.

To liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, the bounds are seemingly endless. Moore has made a recent career out of attacking President George W. Bush, bashing conservatives and criticizing business. His latest outrage occurred on MSNBC’s August 29 “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and when he commented about the coincidental timing of an unfortunate disaster – the potential for Hurricane Gustav to make landfall at the beginning of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.

“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven,” Moore said, laughing. “To have it planned at the same time – that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention

You could also say that it is God's way of showing what he thinks of one of the MOST LIBERAL cities in the US. I mean after all N.O. is very liberal and has the potential to be destroyed yet again. Maybe God is trying to tell us something, like he doesn't want the cesspool of a city to be rebuilt in the liberal format of old...

He is not the only Dem hoping for disaster

Former DNC Chair Laughs About Gustav's Timing to Hit N'Orleans

For those unfamiliar, Donald Fowler was the national chairman of the Democratic National Committee between 1995 and 1997.

According to the video embedded right, Fowler, on a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the recently concluded Democratic National Convention, was joking with Rep. John Spratt (D-SC) about the timing of Hurricane Gustav potentially hitting New Orleans when the Republicans start their convention.

At least that's what it appears he's talking about:

Plus they think the hurricane's going to hit (starts laughing) New Orleans about the time they start. The timing, at least it appears now, that it'll be there Monday. That just demonstrates God's on our side

Given that Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise (R) has reportedly asked Michael Moore to apologize for similar comments made on MSNBC's "Countdown" Friday evening, one should think Fowler will also come under some scrutiny.

Sad to say, I am watching the Weather Channel and they expect it to be at least a CAt 4 or even a Cat 5 when it hits

Dems have been reduced to hoping for people to die to score political points, as they did with Iraq

The worst part of Moore's statement was that it was elicited by MSNBC News "anchor" Keith Olbermann, who grinned goofily while listening to this garbage.

NO show with olberwoman on it can be a "news" station.

He got booted as a sports reporter cuz he is so looney, so thats why he had to go somewhere, (liberal left democrats) who tolerate loonies.

Ratings? Keith's show should be called "Countdown To No Ratings" He is always near the bottom of the ratings

That is why Keith is always taking cheap shots at Fox News

arg, what balls, I hate it when folks say 'god did this because of that' ect ect, I think it was the last time NO was hit that some preacher was on sayin it was Gods wrath because they were going to have a gay pride march, and that was a fucking man of god.

In sayin this moores comments could be being pulled it of conext and it may have just been a through away comment made in jest, but all the same its not the time for jest.

This thread for one

Former DNC Chairman Fowler is another - of course you will spin how his comments were taken out of context

Not sure why. The guy is bizarre though. Again tonight, he had to defend Obama while interviews were being conducted. I doubt he defended McCain one time while doing interviews at the DNC. The guy is a total hack...thats why they kicked him out of sports broadcasting. Its too bad too, cuz he is really good with words.....

You know, it really was quite brilliant on the part of the RNC.

You are absolutely right about one thing.

The presidents ratings are low, historically, but Congresses ratings are even lower, SINGLE FREAKING DIGIT, but unlike the Presidency, the Dem majority senate cannot be represented by one person, so Obama doesnt have to worry about the "organization" representing itself at his nomination, therefore he doesnt have to distance himself.

Yet, if Pres Bush doesnt show up, it looks bad also, so what to do?

WEll, legitimately, Pres Bush now has a very good, serious and solid reason for not attending, whether you like it or not.
I know you dont, and thats why Im smiling right now, BIG SMILE,,,,
