A group called My Good Deed has asked McCain and Obama not to campaign on 9-11 and air no ads
Both have said yes
The gorup wants to make 9/11 a national day voluntary service.
Ok, I will sign up to waterboard a terrorist.
Or to plant a terrorist in the ground
How is that?

If you fertilize him well enough, maybe the sprouts that come up will fight for our side.

They will double up on the ads before and after 9-11
With Obama tanking in the polls, he may refine his position on this promise as well

I'm sure I will take the wrath of the board for saying this, but does it really matter if 9/11 is a "campaign-free" day? Campaign workers will still be working behind the scenes. Not to mention, people will still be going to work. Kids will still go to school, diapers will have to be changed, clothes will need washing, food will need preparing. One can still pause to remember 9/11 in one's own way and not have everything come to a standstill.
