No, I'm a productive part of society. :)

Nope, more like a decrease...employers FORCED to pay more will just increase their product price to cover the cost, so today as a consumer my pay essentially decreased.

Oh, good one!

Or employers could also choice to eliminate a position or two. Some of the business owners that I deal with had said just that, instead of having 10 people to run the operation they may do with only 9.

Brings to mind a cartoon I once saw. Wish I still had a copy.
----------------------------
A manager of a fast-food place is talking to his crew. He says:
"I have good news and I have bad news."
"The good news is, the minimum-wage increase that Congress just passed, means I have to pay you more."
"The bad news is, I can't afford that, so two of you are fired."

Minimum wage is just a tax by a different name with a socialist foundation.

In the WSJ, I read that 42% of minimum wage earners still live at home, with parental support. Only about 17% are heads of households. And now, those 17% are fighting for jobs that just became more expensive for employers to hire for.

Now unemployment is in the double digits and that minimum wage increase is helping few people.
