When you say "America will not be here," do you mean what is now America will be divided up into new countries, such as a Southwestern Hispanic country and a New England country?
Or do you just mean it will be all the same, but not what YOU would call "America" as we know it now?
I would say America breaking up is the end of the country. Also any real end of democracy, such as having a dictator, would be the end of America, functionally.

The land will be here but in my opinion the democracy will be removed from the republic.
The reason for this is what once was the melting pot is slowly becoming a separator.
As for being third world status we are well on our way. Foreigners own most of this nation.

Sighs... I really hate when people use "third world status" and clearly demonstrate that have no idea what it means. I know, I'm anal. I just like it when words are used properly.
We will see another civil war in a few decades.

So what is third world status to you? To me it means you are not able to produce a standard of living for the majority of your citizens that includes ownership of homes and infrastructure to support water delivery and sanitary sewer systems that work. Etc.

Second world is any socialist industrialized nation
Third world is all the rest.

When you say "America will not be here," do you mean what is now America will be divided up into new countries, such as a Southwestern Hispanic country and a New England country?
I mean america will be not be recognizable, it will be completely taken over by a largely dominant hispanic, spanish speaking, america hating crowd, with a non-hispanic minority in fear for its safety and freedom in all parts of the new nothern mexico, but they will be smart enough not to say that, but that is what it will be.
Or do you just mean it will be all the same, but not what YOU would call "America" as we know it now?
I would say America breaking up is the end of the country. Also any real end of democracy, such as having a dictator, would be the end of America, functionally.

Seeing as we already have a functional fascist state in put in place by the Bush administration, it's but a short step to a dictatorship. One that, hopefully, won't be taken either by this administration or...heavens forfend...by the election of another Republican to the White House this fall.

Avatar, a dictatorship can as readily be leftwing as rightwing; actually, leftwing dictatorships are theoretically more common!
I say "theoretically," because dictatorships are actually all about one person having total control and that's their main issue. They may pretend to be socialist or communists or in Obalamabama's case, "liberal," but anyone who is a dictator is really all about himself.

One can only hope. But something tells me that the "linear-thinking knuckle-dragger" makes-up the majority of America so realistically we'll just see more of the same apathy and the only real changes we'll see are negative ones in the amount of liberties we can actually exercise.

"Totalitarian" is a word meaning state control of your TOTAL life --- schooling, cooking, restaurant eating, smoking, drinking, driving, work, your children, everything is controlled by the government.
Sounds a lot more left than right to me.....

That's because you're a partisan nimrod. Facism is a rightwing ideology. Stalinism is a leftwing ideology. It seems the further from the center we get, the more things start to look the same. Things come "full circle" if you will. DUH! Kill your tv and exercise that brain bone for a few minutes each day! I guarantee you'll start to see positive changes if you do!
You do realize that our industries are just about gone, overseas mostly.

That's because you ignore facts and go straight to labels. Unlike you, we actually look at facts.
When someone is looking to make government less involved with peoples lives, it doesnt matter what you call them. They cant be totalitarian and thus cant be either Fascist or Communist which are both socialist totalitarian governments.
But if you just want to repeat your mantra fine. The rest of us will be looking at actual facts.

True, less involved government is called by the British liberal (a word that means the opposite with us, but they used it to promote individual liberty against government control) or libertarian or even anarchist, though they dispense with government altogether, fortunately, since that was the exact factor that prevented them from getting organized. (And Marx, who had NO such compunctions, ate their lunch when he organized the First Internationale.)
But fascism is not socialist. Both fascism and socialism can and apparently must be totalitarian --- the state controlling more and more and more of people's lives right down to organizing children and even begetting children -- the SS breeding factories, for instance, or the early Russian communist idea of holding all women in common. (Women weren't having any of this nonsense, however.)
However, fascism does not make the communist, Marxist pretences about the supremacy of "the workers" that socialism made.
It is true Nazis were named the National Socialist party, but that was simply an attempt to co-opt the thriving workers' organizations of the day -- fascism has actually always been at war with socialism.
Still, it hardly matters. Both are dictatorships and both run and ruin every aspect they can possibly control of everyone's lives. Both derive from the amazing success of total war --- the throwing of a whole society into a war, everything and everybody including women and children organized to fight and win the war. That was a new concept, from Napoleon, but came into full fruition during World War I.
After WWI, a lot of people had an ah-ha moment --------- why not organize all the people all the time to achieve all sorts of utopian goals? So they tried that out.
It didn't work.
