What does one do with skis engraved with their full name, if they no longer ski? They are in good shape, but probably too old to be of interest to anyone. Trash them? I'm not sure I would want someone on the slopes with my name on their skis anyway.

Make some sort of art piece out of them. Something you can hang on the wall.

Come out to California and use them as water skis.

I have a pair of 1985 Atomic race skis that I have leaning against the wall loose at my cabin. I took one binding off so you can see all the lettering and stuff that they used to put under the footbed. In those days you were pretty much expected to mount your own bindings, so the manufacturer printed measurements and such there- in four different languages of course. This generation of ski also shows a very slight width increase at the tip and tail- not at all like modern “shape” skis, but it is there all the same. Back in those days the longer the ski, supposedly the better skier you were. Almost without exception one of the first things my friends say is “mine were 210’s- longer than those” and they think that they have bragging rights, until I point out that the big letters “SL Racing” means that they are slalom skis, 205’ in length, which is analogous to a 220 or 225 GS ski.
So they make a great conversation piece as well.

Bondo?
Bondo.
It's a filler used by body shops repairing damage to cars. Kind of the duct tape of the auto body repair industry.
It's a guy thing.

bondo is stuff you can use on your car, or think of plaster for a wall when you get a hole in it. you put this stuff on, let it dry, sand it flush with the rest of the ski and hten cover with paint.

I'd use epoxy instead of Bondo. I go through a lot of that on my tuning bench.
Or just file the name off before you ebay them.
