Looks can be deceiving...I have mellowed with age...My bark isn't even that bad anymore.
Just ask my 19 month old granddaughter who melts my heart everytime she walks into the room.
I love this pic...8 months old...Xmas 08...Pappy's #1 girl.

He's a young boy, most boys that age are thin regardless what they eat. Ain't that the truth. I was 135# soaking wet graduating HS. I used to eat two peanut butter and fluff sandwiches after school, then have dinner three hours later. My wife's uncle was 125; talk about skinny! My son will probably be somewhere between these, and I feed him three eggs and bacon every morning, he eats pizza for lunch every day, his favorite meal is pasta, and he eats a whole bag of movie theater butter popcorn every night!

Speaking of baby pics, this is one of my favorites from when Samantha was just a lil' munchkin. She was always such a happy baby, I can't remember her ever having a bad day.

OT, but I am a product of Connecticut right near NYC. I hate that city. So tall and dark. On the other hand, I love DC, a city so open and beautiful. But each have their merits and demerits, I will admit. Enjoy!

lol, yeah, I've had the goatee for years now. Apparently, I'm just one of those people who is supposed to have facial hair. I had one female friend of mine who usually hates beards tell me to grow it back after I slip with the trimmer one time, and had to shave it off.
I actually get like no input on my looks, so I'm never really certain how I rate. I was a huge dork in high school.... well okay, let's be honest, I'm a huge dork still, but I was painfully shy back then, so the subject never came up.

lol, yeah, problem is I'm horrific on dates. I get really badly nervous, and I flip between not talking at all, and talking way too much. I do wish I was in better physical shape though. I used to be avidly into rockclimbing and caving and such. I could actually do one arm pull-ups, cause I saw a guy doing it in the movie Best of the Best, and wondered if I could. Obviously when someone is morbidly obese they are not attractive, but much like a drunkard.... food can be an escape an addiction, so the bigger sized a person is I know they have a lot of pain and I don't desire to add to it by being hurtful toward them.....ok sometimes I call myself names

My oldest daughter struggles with her weight and I am afraid I was not a very good role model myself.
Obviously when someone is morbidly obese they are not attractive, but much like a drunkard.... food can be an escape an addiction, so the bigger sized a person is I know they have a lot of pain and I don't desire to add to it by being hurtful toward them.....ok sometimes I call myself names
I go up n down in my weight Jim just like you, not morbid but up to 20 pounds overweight.:salute:
20lbs is barely overweight and far from obese! And I know you're still fibbing about the rest, beotch!!

However included in my Christmas presents from my Dad, my Mum and one of my Aunites were sets of guillette pro-glide razors with extra razor heads. Which I'm taking as a hint xD

And close! It's a 'Deli-Delicious' calendar....and oddly enough in his youth Russell Brand had a quiff because of Morrissey, and while he no longer sports the quiff his cat is called Morrissey! /random pub quiz trivia.

what's the scar on your neck from?
I have degenerative disc disease and C5-C6 vertebrae, the disc was protruding out from between and pressing into my spinal cord. It's called "Anterior Cervical Discectomy w/ Fusion" - meaning they cut the front of the neck, widen it, reach into the back to the spine, now the front of the spine if you can picture it, and the slowly scoop out the injured disc. Once completed, they put a "new" disc in its place which is I believe cadaver bone. They then place a small plate between C5-C6 and screw it into place in order to prevent the new disc from slipping out.

Besides, I smelled a bit of sarcasm in the young lads post, I don't think he was being serious about Dad, he's always been nothing but respectful from what I've seen.
I didn't dare take on my Dad when I was younger, I saw the belt one too many times when I was a youngster and new better! Never a "beating", but looking back on it, I'm glad for the small belt issues, taught me a lot of lessons. In fact, he still does to this day, only now we chat as man to man instead of belt to ass!

I never took a belt to my kids. A slap on the thigh just below the ass was very effective though. Hold 'em down, one leg on their back and the other on their knees and slowly pull the pants down, describing in great detail how badly it is going to hurt. They can't see what is going on and the suspense is excruciating for them. If you do it right you can practically make them cry by having the wife clap her hands together. This worked well between the ages of 2 and maybe 7 or so. After that they have privileges that you can take away, and that's even more effective.
Yup, threats and intimidation. Without it they won't grow up right.

Not intervening, none of my business really, but I believe if Cadet was out of line, and Nuke thought so, him and Trigg would take care of business!
You know, since you spoke of your dad, may I speak of my Dad.
Dad died in 1995 so this story dates back to perhaps 1955. I joined the HS football team trying to learn how to play the game. I was maybe 150 pounds and something like 5-7. Later on I grew more to 5-11 and 190 pounds. That however was post HS.
Anyway, one weekend Dad and I got to messing around. He invited me to see if using football tactics I could put him on the ground.
First he had to be all of 255 pounds at the time and stood 6-2 or so.
A big man.
I sure miss him. Dad was one of the greatest men I ever met. And he was my step dad.
Anyway, I run at him and end up on the ground. He grabs my feet and hoists me up pretty high only I am upside down. Talk about being a fool. I never tried that again. LOL

I think everyone missed this post and it's sad that this thread has gotten so far away from what it was supposed to be.
Cadet and Nuke enjoy getting into it and wrestling around. Cadet will soon be 20, and now when they kid around cadet gets the upper hand, occationally, Nuke is dirty wrestler lol. In fact Nuke enjoys getting Cadet into a hold just so I can run in and tickle him. It's all in good fun and I thought that was abundantly clear in cadet's post, but sometimes things are lost in translation when typing.
Now can we all please get this thread back on topic, and post pictures.

In 1968 I was 14 years old, my brother was 17 just barely shy of 18 and he was far, far stronger than most men. We used to race sawing wood with handsaws, crosscut saws and felling saws. My dad then was in bad health and 67 years old. One day he came out into the yard to show us how to really work, how to really saw timber. First he raced me sawing timber and put me to shame then he raced my older brother who was 17 and extremely strong. This was after racing me cutting timber for about 30 minutes. He raced my older brother(who was rested) for 30 minutes and put him to shame. He worked that hour beating us both and we both thought we were so good at sawing and at stamina in working. He hadn't even broke a sweat while we we soaked. He was 67 years old and had cancer at the time. He died a year later from that cancer. That was 43 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of him and wish to hug him again. I'd give all my money and all my material possessions to be able to spend a day with him now! To me , no man ever existed that was superior to him.
If I had ever reached the level to be even half the man that he was I'd be proud as hell. I still got some years remaining but seriously doubt I'll ever even make that level. -Tyr

"Kitchen aromas arent very homely
Its not comforting, cheery or kind
Its sizzling blood and the unholy stench
Of murder
Its not natural, normal or kind
The flesh you so fancifully fry
The meat in your mouth
As you savour the flavour
Of murder"
What does it explain?
I have put biofuels cus they are in a different way, land that use to produce grain and staple crop are now used to make biofuels, this has help push up the prices of grain world wide, pushing those on the brink into starvation, and these people are staving because we want cheaper gas at the pump...sickening, therefore Biofuel is murder :)

I wonder how many posts I missed that I had not intended to miss.
Your dad was very impressive. Not trying to top your story since we did not know each others dad but at one point, before he met mother, he logged in Washington state. He was by high school age a huge powerful man. I knew that until big lumber decided to cut lumber prices, Dad's logging business thrived. Dad believed it was how the big lumber planned to drive out local producers. Anyway, logging keeps a man in good shape especially before chain saws.
I worked on many construction jobs with Dad and his feats of power was of legend. I have seen him use a large sledge hammer and hit a steel plate and the force lifted him up into the air, leaving his feet. We had on pile drivers this part of the hammer called the cushion block. We put a 1 inch thick steel plate in the bottom of this special steel ring and a block of a tree inside,(Eucalyptus I think- about a foot thick) followed by the 2 inch thick plate on top. The idea was to beat the wood down to almost nothing and replace the wood that took the shock of the pile driving hammer. Course when we used the sledge hammer to remove the last piece of wood, at times the wood wedged the plates making it hard to hammer it out to put in new wood. Dad could put us all to shame in hitting that wood out. Most of the time the wood came out pretty easy. Anyway I missed your post about your dad and did not mean to. Sounds to me like your dad was much like my dad was except he did not do contests with we 3 step sons.
