so I think most of you know that I am currently working at the hospital on third shift and I have to say that third shift sucks ass, so yes I have been looking to see if I can locate another job that is first shift.

I don't usually get on career builder, I have found that whenever i send in a resume to a job on there i never get a call from any of them but today for some reason i decided to look around on there and see what I could find i was actually looking for some place that i could do some type of volunteer counseling that would coincide with my degree I am working on.

While i am typing up different key words looking for something related to my degree and not finding anything at all I decided to type in domestic violence just to see if i pulled anything up.

I actually pulled up the YWCA they are hiring for shelter advocates, family support specialist, and residential aides. Talk about shocked I had no idea I would come across these positions this is my passion and one of the things i want to pursue.

Funny thing is they were not looking for a degree but someone with experience or interest providing supportive services to survivors of domestic violence. hmmm well considering i have 18 years of being in 2 different relationships of domestic violence and have studied this particuler area in great depth I should be a shoo in.

Keep your fingers crossed I sent them a cover letter and resume today.

Once you get a degree you could also check into advocacy centers. Some of them have counsellors and therapists on site to help the victims of child abuse, sex assault and other crimes.

Google Childhelp and see what they have in your area.

Best wishes Trinity, good to see some places emphasising achievement and not just paper.

When my best friend Lauren graduated from high school, she didn't have many skills, but she was a great people person. Her sister saw an ad for a nursing home aide that said "Must love people and have a passion for helping others." That was Lauren to a T.
She went on to work there and in an assisted living center until she got married and moved to England.

Working with people in need is a very fulfilling job. Good luck with it!
