When I first caught the buzz about Bobby Jindal, I thought it was nothing more than a pipe dream. “Who is this guy anyway?” I wondered. “And who is he to really compete with the likes of Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee for the #2 spot?” I was reading the India Times and thought it just sounded like more of the same “Wouldn’t it be COOL if we had a black president or a woman president?” chatter.

However, after closer inspection, there are a few qualifications that’d make him the right McCain VEEP at the right time…

He may well be good, but still too young and inexperienced. Let's see what he does with LA first.

There is only one explanation for this stampede to elect the weirdest possible looking people to the White House:

George Bush has done such an awful job that no white, Yalie, male establishment figure can possibly get in. The public wants the exact opposite of Bush, and being stupid, the public has decided if they LOOK different, they'll be different.

He seems like a good choice for VP, actually. As Mundame said, right now, "different" on the outside is apparently a top requirement of the masses. Dark skin wrapped around a conservative heart works just fine for me. :) :beer:
