Michael Jablonski, 36, who teaches social studies at the school, told a judge at his hearing that he was molested as a child by a group of boys who tied him to a tree
Surely this will excuse Mr. Jablonski of:
Police seized 80 CDs and 68 VHS tapes earlier this month from Jablonski's apartment, according to a search warrant return. They also took a computer jump drive, cell phone, memory card and floppy disks.
So who turned Jablonski over to police?
His girlfriend :laugh2:

It is customary in these cases to take all electronic items, vhs tapes and CDs. That is not saying that all of these items had child porn on them. Obviously, possessing child porn is not right. However, it is my understanding that this guy went through some traumatic experiences as a 7 year old. Apparently he did not or could not deal with it. It is not unusual for people with this kind of trauma to revisit their pain. It is just a blessing that he only had the porn rather than actively molesting children. I read that he has been in therapy. It seems like a better place for him than jail, given his trauma. I think he can be helped.

Welcome to the site, they're gonna love you, lol.
I don't get the whole 'i was abused, so i like to watch others being abused' line of thought, seems pretty damn dumb to me.

This piece of trash should be locked away never to see the light of day. There is no excuse for possessing kiddie porn, none. You have no idea whether he has been molesting children or not. All we know for sure is that he was never caught molesting children. If, and I do mean if, he had not yet molested a child, he was not far from doing so. There is no curing these sick bastards, lock them up, keep children safe.

Oh boy.
If he was in therapy, it obviously wasn't working. As far as "he's only looking", I don't have time to look it up now, but I am fairly sure I've read that there is a very high incidence of looking turning to doing, with child porn.
Even if he never touches a kid, he is supporting a sickening industry that exploits the helpless. And turns out more sickos, accoring to his own logic.
That ok with you?

He got therapy after he tried to kill himself. Hasn't it occured to you that he was helpless as a child when he was raped? Yes, I am sure that because of this he has turned into a "sicko", but was it really his fault? I mean that he was exploited as a kid, probably held it inside and didn't realize that the trauma that he faced was affecting him later in life. There is lots of incidents occording to the mental health field that support the fact that most criminals have been abused in some way, which leads to them acting out. In some cases violently, and in other cases, it could be something as simple as downloading child porn. It is unfortunate that this guy turned to this material, and with some therapy I hope that he reconstitues his life and becomes the person he was supposed to be before he was perpetrated upon.
Unfortunately many in society react in the manner of "lets hang 'em", and in this case already assigned to him crimes which he has not committed. As far as I can tell he has not molested anyone, and just because statistics say that this could happen, doesn't mean in this case it would. I think some are jumping the gun here. I mean statitics showed that Hillary Clinton was the Democratic front runner just a year ago. Statistics show that you have a greater chance of getting injured in a car accident within a mile of your home, but has it happened to you? Why are we so happy to throw these people into prison and say the job is done. Increasingly so, our jail and prison system is becoming the dumping ground for the mentally ill. Whatever happened to rehabilitation, and the uncynical view that a human being can be redeemed?

It is bad enough to be caught in possession of kiddie porn. But to be turned in by your girlfriend? That's cold blooded.
I think anyone convicted of possessing kiddie porn, or any form of sexual abuse of a child, should be sent to a maximum security prison and placed in the general population.
My brother in law told that if there is one thing that unites all prisoners, regardless of age, race or gang affiliation, is that they all despise crimes against children. Anyone convicted of such is not in for a happy stay. And the authorities are more apt to look the other way.
