I never go through my bulletins on Myspace, but did this evening and found some good stuff!!
---------------------------
Guys, Meet Carmen
A woman scanned the guests at a party and spotted an attractive man standing alone.
She approached him.
"Hi....My name is Carmen", she told him.
"That's a beautiful name," he replied, "Is it a family name?"
"No," she replied. "I gave it to myself. It reflects the things I like most -- cars and men.
"What's your name?" she asked.
He said, "B. J. Titsenbeer"

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him.
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir," "Jim died today.
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when you decide that it is the right time it might
be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.

"Dad, can I borrow $25"
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year
old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business.
Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know.
Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you
can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then
you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed.
Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.' The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's
questions.
How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After
about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25 and
he really didn't ask for money very often.
The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you.
Here's the $25 you asked for.
The little boy sat straight up, smiling.
'Oh, thank you daddy!' He yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father. 'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.
The father was crushed.
He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life.
We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily
replace us in a matter of hours.
But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

You hit on the meaning with this one. If only all kids could know to give their parents this kind of wake up!

Talk about a thread that strikes a chord. I learned the value of time when I was a lot younger.
My sister had a close friend in high school. The girl got pretty much everything she wanted, anytime she wanted it. Her parents never said no to anything she asked. I sometimes wondered why girls like her got everything and my sister and I had very little.
My sister (who is four years older than me) talked about how the girl's dad spent 6-8 months a year on the road. He earned untold tons of money. But he was rarely home, and his three kids suffered because of it.
My mom and dad both earned very little. Which is why we lived in a small house in a lower middle class area. But my mom and dad were home every night and every weekend. If my sister and I were in an activity, they were always there. My dad planned his schedule around his kids, rather than his work.
My dad once turned down a job where he could have earned six figures. But it would have entailed a lot of traveling and time away from home, and he wasn't willing to make that sacrifice.
Some parents wants to provide financially for their families. My parents just wanted to provide. :)
