Agnostic.
My family's Lutheran and Quaker, but all I really believe I think is that God's too big for me to know.

Actually the fascists are the neocons who believe corporate interests supercede all other human values, and that it is desirable when corporate influence subverts all other national interests.

Why? The poll can serve as an indicator of the numerical makeup of religions represented on this board by people who voted.
EDIT:
just saw the caption above the poll, was only looking at the thread.

I was raised Catholic, was an altarboy(no the priest didn't molest me or anyone I knew) but I really don't like organized religion.....too many rules that most of the leaders don't even follow, I would much rather take a walk in the woods and be surrounded by God's finest work rather than sit in a manmade temple pretending to be interested in what someone with their hand out has to say. Houston is home to Joel Osteen(Lakewood Church), he took over the former stadium that the Rockets played in and spent close to 100 million dollars refurbishing it. He is on television numerous times a week and although he preaches a very positive message it is almost exactly the same ever time I've seen him, he's so syrupy I need to take a shower to wash off the funk. He gets sell out crowds for each of his shows(the place has 16,000 seats and it is usually standing room only). There are others that are smaller but also put on a show each Sunday, they are the stars of their "church" and make a lot of money that doesn't get taxed, that is ridiculous. They all seem to ignore the first commandment by playing God. What is funny is that these imposters are the type that criticize the Catholic church for not being Christian enough, too much hypocrisy.

Gee, what a surprise......
I'm the first frickin' Hindu here.
Maybe if I make common cause with the Atheists and Agnostics and that group who basically said they didn't give a shit, we can counter the Jesus bloc.
I usually tell people I'm Buddhist, 'cause that's got cooler overtones....y'know, Jack Kerouac and the beatniks, and all.
But what the hell, I thought I'd be honest.

I was raised in the Christian evangelist "Assembly of God" church but my scientific/inquisitive mind always left too many questions that the church could never adequately answer. I struggled for a while with believing in Jesus in highschool and college. Now I kind of accept the story of Jesus in my day to day life but if probed on the subject I will usually answer that Jesus was probably just a regular human afterall and that God was created by man rather than the other way around.
I often think that if it were not for Christianity, we'd all probably be pagans in the tradition of our European ancestors! We'd have sex rites and celebrations of the equinox and dance around bon fires naked in a wine-induced stupor! I'd prefer that.

Raised Christian, baptized Methodist ( at age 4 ), studied Catholicism, Buhddism, Baha'i, just started checking out Jainism ( its a bit to stringent for me ), I really lean towards the eastern traditions. I meditate and pray, I also eat meat and fast.I have read the Bible, the Koran ( not in full text ), many text from the great traditionalists like Father Thomas Keating, Ken Wilber, Adyashanti, Thich Nhat Hanh , and so forth. So I am a mixture of beliefs that share one common bond a belief in a higher power, whatever you may call it, God, God Head, the Creator ect.
Buddhist because it's the only one I ever understood.

Then you should slow down, my friend. Chew each bite thoroughly. Regardless of religious persuasion, bolting one's food is never a good idea!

I'll tell you what I like about Hinduism....
It's one of the few religions that stresses that you can't go seeking after enlightenment, or salvation, just by praying, or wishing, or whatever.
Hinduism provides a system of hatha yoga that is designed to keep your body healthy and strong while you undertake your search for the self.

As a young man, I rejected my Catholic upbringing in favor of a devout and enthusiastic hedonism. When the consequences of living like an arrogant, self-centered fool finally drove me to my knees, I turned around, and there was Jesus - right where He promised He'd be. He was waiting for me, at the end of my endurance.
I simply consider myself a believer. Denominations are the constructs of man, and are, as such, imperfect by definition. But, any religion that clings to the simple and precious word of God is not going to go far wrong.
