Really great movie about the Manchester music scene, from its roots in the late 70's/early 80's with bands like Joy Division, through the 80's with New Order and Happy Mondays, and into the 90's, where it became the birthplace of the rave culture. The whole thing is told from the point of view of Tony Wilson, a television personality who formed the Factory Records collective. Wilson is played by Steve Coogan, one of England's best actors, in my opinion. Obviously, if you don't like the music, you won't like the movie, but it's a really interesting movie, and they did a good job of making the story about the music, not just about Wilson. Highly recommended.
