"Couples start to resemble each other"

My sister sent me an e-mail about how she met a woman who has made a nice living out of advising couples about their future together. She says that the closest and longest lasting couple eventually start to resemble each other. My sister blew her out of the water by showing a picture of her and her husband. The poor woman was flabbergasted.
My sister is 5-2, weighs 120 pounds, slender build with blonde hair.
Her husband is 6-6, weighs around 250, very large build and dark Mexican features.

I'm not sure that your sister is inconsistent with that woman's point, which appears to be that the longest lasting couples tend to grow to look alike. Unless your sister has been married to him for a long time?

"They" say pet owners and their pets begin to look and/or act the same as well. I think that when people and animals live together for a while they begin to appear and behave similarly due to their having to constantly interact. I think adopting your partner's idiosyncracies, behaviors, mannerisms and sense of style and visa versa is a natural side-effect of working-out a peaceful coexistence. Merging two worlds is much more effective in creating a partnership than rigid adherence to behaviors that force the two to bounce off each other like oil and water.
