I would like to wish each and every member here at Debate Policy a Merry Christmas. I hope you all enjoy the holiday season and have a chance to spend time with family and share that feeling with them. However it is you celebrate the holiday season, may you all be happy, and safe.
Thank you ALL, from the bottom of my heart, for making this a fun and eventful place to be throughout the year.
I hope Santa brings all of you what you wished for!
:)

Sorry bout that,
1. I want to wish all you folks here a *Very Merry Christmas*!!!
2. And try to fathom the enormity of *God Himself* (I AM), being born in a donkey stall, on a cold winter night, in a cave in Bethlehem, no room at the Inn.
2. (a) I have been there myself, it really is a cave.
3. God with us, and in fact, as we are, flesh and blood, tempted as we are.
4. If you don't already know this, *You really do have a friend in Jesus*.
5. The reason for the season is a simple one, those who have Jesus as a friend, take this time to honor his coming, a child was born on this night, thousands of years ago, and all life is placed on his shoulders.
6. For there is no life, in mankind, unless he finds Jesus.
7. Your life as you know it is a glimmering flicker of a candle, time will jump past you before you know it, but if you look and find Jesus, time is on your side.
8. Have a *Happy New Year* folks!
Regards,

Thanks for the sentiment, Jim, and good holiday wishes to all of you.
Even though you Christians should be celebrating Jesus' birthday in the spring.... ;)

Actually, it's to commemorate the birth of Christ.

Nope: the day is to commemorate the solstice. The Christians stole it from the pagans.

If it had been to commemorate the solstice, it would have been placed on December 22. Instead, the Catholic Church (being the only church around at the time) placed it on December 25, which was at the end of a Roman feast called Saturnalia (IIRC). Bad calendar placement, IMO, as the Biblical account would place Christ's birth in the warmer months (late spring/early summer, perhaps). Anyway, they are two separate occasions.
